Executive Team

We are a team of ten with a combined 216 years of Dofasco tenure. Together, we are focused on leading ArcelorMittal Dofasco on a relentless pursuit of world class – maintaining our position as the top performing steel company in North America.


Position within ArcelorMittal

Sean was appointed to the position of President and CEO ArcelorMittal Dofasco and Member of the ArcelorMittal Management Committee in 2014. He has held various leadership positions including Vice President, Manufacturing, Vice President Technology, Director Quality Systems & Manufacturing Technology, General Manager, Market Development and Product Applications, New Product Development Process Owner, Galvanize Technology Business Unit Manager and Operations Foreman.

Sean joined Dofasco in 1981 as a Production Engineer in Galvanize after graduating from Hamilton's McMaster University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He is a member of several Boards, including McMaster University Board of Governors, McMaster Innovation Park and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Brian Benko was appointed Vice President, Procurement and Information Technology in 2011 after having held the position of Director of Purchasing with responsibility for sourcing and operational direction for purchases, transportation and plant stores inventory.  Brian began his career at ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1987 in Information Systems with various leadership positions in operations, applications development and infrastructure services. 

Brian graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree.  He is actively involved in the community, most recently serving on the Boards of the Chamber of Marine Commerce, Sustainable Hamilton-Burlington and the Council of Chief Information Officers.  
Andrew Connor was appointed to Vice President, Commercial in 2014 after having held the role of Director of Strategy for ArcelorMittal Americas. He began his career at ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1985 holding several leadership roles including Director of Customer Service, Director of Quality Systems and Manufacturing Technology, Manager of Customer Service and General Manager of Environment and Energy.

Andrew holds a degree in Chemical Engineering  and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University.

Scott began his career in the Taxation Department at Algoma in 1989 and transferred to Dofasco in 1990. Since then, Scott has held various senior financial positions in Taxation, Treasury, Investor Relations, Strategic Development, and Financial Reporting.

Scott was Director, Finance & Administration at Powerlasers, and prior to his appointment to Vice President, Finance, he was Director, Corporate Taxation at ArcelorMittal Dofasco.

As part of his responsibilities, Scott also serves on the Board of ArcelorMittal Dofasco and a number of its subsidiaries.  He also serves on the Board of Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation and is the Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committees. Scott graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and became a Chartered Accountant in 1988.

Lisa joined ArcelorMittal Dofasco as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in June 2013.  Prior to this, Lisa was a partner at an international law firm engaged in a broad corporate/commercial law practice with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, infrastructure financing, governance and regulatory compliance and was also a contributing editor to the Business Law Reports.

Lisa is responsible for all legal and compliance matters of ArcelorMittal Dofasco and its subsidiaries and serves as ArcelorMittal Country Counsel, Canada and the ArcelorMittal Legal Entity Governance Regional Coordinator for the Americas.

An ex-officio committee member of ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s Corporate Community Investment Fund, she is also an executive member and board member of the Adoption Council of Ontario. Lisa graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts (Administrative and Commercial Studies), and from the University of Windsor in 1996 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Masters of Business. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998.

Katrina McFadden was appointed Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Admin in 2014 after having held the position of General Manager of Human Resources for ArcelorMittal Dofasco. Katrina has held several positions in Human Resources and in Galvanize including Field Manager, Organizational Development specialist and Manufacturing Engineer.  In addition to Human Resources, Katrina leads teams dedicated to emergency crisis management and Health and Wellness.

Katrina holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University, as well as Certifications in Change Management. She serves on the Board of Governors of Mohawk College and the McMaster Alumni Association Board of Directors.


Angela Pappin was appointed Vice President, Technology in 2014 after having held senior roles throughout technology including General Manager, Metallurgy and Quality, Business Unit Manager of Tin Plate Products, Business Unit Manager of Cold Roll and Tin Technology. She began her career with ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1988 as a Tin Plate Products Stream Senior Engineer.

Angela’s career has included cross functional appointments including market and product development, engineering, energy management, manufacturing and corporate strategy. Angela is a past Chair of the American Iron and Steel Institute’s Metallurgical Committee on Tin Mill Practice. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University.

Tony joined ArcelorMittal Dofasco in June 2011 from his own firm, Ridge Strategy Group, a public affairs and management consulting company. Tony was a Member of Parliament for four consecutive terms, beginning in 1993.

During his terms in office, Tony served as Minister of Transport and subsequently led the Government's legislative program as Leader of the Government in the House of Commons. Prior to assuming public office, he was principal of a life and health benefits practice.

Tony is a graduate of McMaster University and is actively involved in the community.  He is a Director on the Board of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, and Chair of the Governance Committee.  Tony is also on the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and held the position of Board Chair from 2009 to 2011.


Tom was appointed to the position of Vice President, Manufacturing in 2014. Tom has held various leadership roles in manufacturing including General Manager, Primary Manufacturing, Steelmaking Business Unit Manager and Steelmaking Technology Coach. Tom joined ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1989 as Refractory Engineer after beginning his career at Crane Canada in 1987.

Tom holds a Master of Business Administration and a degree in Ceramics Engineering from McMaster University. As a recognized expert in refactories, Tom was awarded the Distinguished Life Member of the United International Conference on Refractories in 2011 and has developed a 3-day ArcelorMittal University course on Refractories in Steelmaking. Tom is a member of the ArcelorMittal Dofasco Corporate Community Investment Fund Committee and an ordained Deacon of the Roman Catholic Church.
