During a press conference hosted at Tim Hortons field — where the national Canadian university football championship will be played on Grey Cup weekend — CIS CEO Graham Brown announced that the local organizing committee would be led by McMaster University’s Glen Grunwald.

Those in attendance also heard from Mayor Fred Eisenberger and ArcelorMittal Dofasco President CEO Sean Donnelly who reflected on how their organizations helped bring the Vanier Cup back to ‘Steeltown’.

“We understand the power of sport – its ability to inspire, build community, build confidence and build leaders. And we know that university athletics is a breeding ground for our next generation of Canadian leaders and those that will transform tomorrow, said Donnelly.
