Galvanized steel is used in the manufacturing of exposed & unexposed automotive parts, culvert, cladding & roofing, HVAC systems, pools, appliances and commercial doors.

galvanized steel

Galvanized

  • Galvanized Steel is produced by the continuous hot dip galvanizing process, in which the HR or CR strip is fed through a molten zinc bath. The zinc coating improves the corrosion resistance of the steel substrate thanks to the barrier protection and sacrificial characteristics of the coating.

E-Passivation

ArcelorMittal‘s E-PassivationTM is an environmentally responsible, hexavalent chromium-free passivation or temporary protection surface treatment, applied to all galvanised product when passivation is requested.

Galvanneal

  • Galvanneal Steel is produced by the continuous hot dip galvanizing process. After exiting the zinc bath, the coated steel strip is subjected to a heat treatment that converts the coating from pure zinc to a zinc-iron alloy. The iron in the coating improves weldability while keeping the barrier and sacrificial characteristics of other zinc coatings.

LustreLok™

  • LustreLokTM is produced by applying a thin, clear organic coating to the galvanized steel as a final protective layer over the zinc coating. LustreLokTM provides an attractive appearance and enhances the traditional look of galvanized steel. The application of an organic coating eliminates the need for ArcelorMittal to apply conventional chemical treatment (passivation) and vanishing oil.

Ultragal™

  • UltragalTM Steel improves the existing ExtragalTM process, focusing on waviness control. With the UltragalTM production process, waviness in steel products can be controlled both before and after forming. In an optimized painting process configuration, UltragalTM lends the painted part very high-quality paint appearance. With waviness reduced to a very low value, UltragalTM also contributes to enhanced reproducibility of paint appearance quality. It is recommended for parts requiring a premium aspect level or when a compact paint process system is used.
