Notice of Incident

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, ArcelorMittal Dofasco experienced a visible emission because of a controlled shutdown at the No. 4 Blast Furnace.

The total visible emission, comprised primarily of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Particulate in the emission is iron, ore fines, coke fines, carbon and coal.

The Ontario Ministry of Environment, Parks and Conservation’s Spills Action Centre has been notified, and our teams are investigating the cause.
